Some people think that it doesn't matter what you believe as long as it doesn't hurt or affect me. You are literally free to believe what you like. But are we? Strangely enough truth does matter, therefore what you believe does matter. The next time you visit the beach and the lifesavers put the flags up to indicate where it is safe to swim, does that mean you are free to swim outside of the flags. You can! But you ignore the voice of the lifesavers at your own peril and at the cost of your own life. Are you ready to put your life on the line for a false belief? The truth is, the Creator God has spoken. He desires that His creation give Him the glory that He is due. It has happened, but imagine bringing a child into the world, only to have that child say to the parents - I don't need you or want you in my life. How would the parents feel? God has spoken to His children, but what has been our response? Some might say, "But how has God spoken? I didn't hear Him." We are told God has spoken through His creation. Can't we hear the Creator God shouting out to us through the design work in what He has made. God speaks of what He is like through the written work - the Bible. What have you read of God in the Bible this morning? We also discover what God is saying through His Son, Jesus Christ. Look at the Son you will see the Father. God has spoken and revealed Himself. Do you believe what He has said? No matter how much we deny the truth, there are consequences if we do not believe!
