Why am I here is an interesting question to ponder? In thinking about the question we might tie it as to why we came to church this morning? Or we might tie it as to why we live in Werribee or Tarneit?

But just why are you here? Is it for a coffee and biscuit after the service? Is it to catch up with friends? What is your purpose in life? What has God got planned for your life? These are not trick questions. They demand serious soul searching answers.

If we were to consider the Westminster Confession of Faith, we would learn that our chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. How are we doing so far? Is our purpose to make disciples of the nations? Is our purpose to love one another? Or is it to encourage one another, to build one another up in the faith?

Why am I here is a question Job was asking? Did God bring Job into being only to see him suffer and destroyed? That was a question Job was pondering.

Have you pondered why you are here? Go and glorify God. Go and enjoy Him.
